Lightning claims lives of two girls in Parsa Bazar

Patna: Two minor girls died after being struck by lightning in Parsa Bazar area of Patna district on Friday morning while grazing goats in a field. The incident occurred in Sakraicha village.

The deceased were identified as Shimran Kumari (12), daughter of Gopali Paswan, and Sweety Kumari (10), daughter of Ripu Paswan.

According to villagers, the two girls had taken goats out for grazing when the weather suddenly deteriorated. A lightning strike that hit both girls, killing them on the spot.

As news of the tragedy spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the site.

Parsa Bazar SHO Menka Rani said, “The bodies have been sent to PMCH for the postmortem. The circle officer has been informed, and a request has been made for assistance to the families under the govt’s disaster relief scheme.”
