Samastipur/Patna: Three unidentified bike-borne criminals

at his shop at Sardarganj Chowk under the Dalsingsarai police station area in Samastipur on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ramesh Prasad, 45. He was sitting inside his shop located in downtown Dalsingsarai when the criminals opened indiscriminate fire on him in broad daylight. One Bharat Paswan, a 42-year-old vendor, also sustained bullet injuries as the criminals shot at him when he rushed to rescue the jeweller.
Dalsingsarai SDPO Anwar Javed said eyewitnesses told police that half an hour before the killing, Prasad had a heated argument with few people inside his shop, after which they had left the place.
“Around 2.30pm, three men reached the spot on a mobike and shot at the trader. He was rushed to a hospital, but was declared brought dead by doctors,” said the SDPO.
Dalsingsarai police station SHO Subodh Chaudhary said the jeweller was said to have been shot thrice. “But only the postmortem report will reveal the exact number of gunshot injuries he sustained,” the SHO said and added police were busy controlling the law and order situation after the killing.

said ten people were arrested in this connection. They include shooter Abhishek Kumar. “The mobike and the weapon used in the murder of Poddar have also been recovered by police,” he said, adding Valmiki and Ravi, who earlier worked as Poddar’s sales manager, had plotted the murder.
Valmiki and Ravi have also been arrested,
