JD(U) workers’ meet a flop show: Opposition

PATNA: Opposition parties in Bihar called the JD(U) workers’ meet on Sunday a flop show.
Leader of opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav shared few photographs of the meet on his Twitter handle and sarcastically tweeted: “Congratulation for the success of great rally-cum-street show-cum-workers’ meet at Gandhi Maidan on the auspicious occasion of chief minister Nitish Kumar’s birthday.Those who are claiming to win 200 seats, could not even manage 50 people from each Vidhan Sabha constituency, in spite of using political, financial and muscle power and vulgar dance and song.”
Later, Tejashwi told reporters at Motihari: “JD(U) had actually organized a rally, but intentionally named it workers’ meet as they were never confident of pulling in people. Has anyone heard of workers’ meet at Gandhi Maidan? They could not even fill 20% of Gandhi Maidan and it was a flop show.”
Congress’s state spokesperson Rajesh Rathore said not even 15,000 people came to listen to a CM who is in power for the past 15 years. “In fact, only officials of the district administration and cops deputed on the venue were seen standing by the time Nitish was concluding his 100-minute speech,” he said.
RLSP national secretary general Madhaw Anand said JD(U) meet was to create pressure on its alliance partners before seat- sharing. “However, it was a flop how and people are not getting trapped by CM Nitish’s false claims,” he said.
HAM (S) spokesperson Danish Rizwan also gave a similar view and said: “I would advise CM Nitish to organize such meetings only at his party office, rather than making fun of Gandhi Maidan, where many big rallies and important political events have been organized in the past.”
