JD(U) appoints new presidents in 10 Bihar districts

JD(U) on Monday appointed new presidents in the remaining nine districts where organisational elections could not be held in November last year due to various reasons, including gross irregularities in the election process.

PATNA: JD(U) on Monday appointed new presidents in the remaining nine districts where organisational elections could not be held in November last year due to various reasons, including gross irregularities in the election process.
The party has 51 organisational districts in Bihar and it announced the election of district presidents for its 42 organisational districts on November 23 last year.

The election of district presidents in the remaining nine organization districts— Madhepura, Muzaffarpur, Sheikhpura, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Muzaffarpur Nagar, Darbhanga Nagar, Katihar Nagar and Begusarai Nagar— were postponed due to some reasons.
JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha on Monday nominated new presidents for these nine districts. While former minister Ramesh Rishideo was nominated as the party’s district president of Madhepura, former MLA Randhir Kumar Soni (Sheikhpura), former MLA Ashok Kumar Singh (Aurangabad), Ram Babu Kushwaha (Muzaffarpur), Ajay Kushwaha (Rohtas), Anupam Singh (Muzaffarpur Nagar), Madhaw Jha (Darbhanga Nagar), Mukesh Kumar (Katihar Nagar) and Sanjay Singh was appointed as president of Begusarai Nagar district.
The JD(U) state president also appointed Mohammad Arshad as new president of Nalanda district. The post was vacant after death of its last president Siya Sharan Thakur in January this year.
