J P Ganga Path to become city’s scenic hotspot: Nitish

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday said the plantation and beautification work underway along the JP Ganga Path would help develop it into one of the most attractive locations in the state capital. He conducted a spot inspection of the project and issued instructions to the officials concerned.“The J P Ganga Path, running along the bank of the river Ganga in Patna, has been a unique project. Its beautification is being done in a planned manner taking into account the locale. In the coming days, the stretch will turn into a very attractive place for the people,” the CM said during the inspection. The beautification programme includes the construction of 20-foot gates, landscaping, plantation and design work. Soon after the J P Ganga Path was constructed, people began visiting the stretch in large numbers and it gradually came to be referred to as the Marine Drive of Patna. Following this, a comprehensive beautification programme was taken up, which also includes food parks, selfie points, landscaping, design elements and plantation.During the inspection, the CM reviewed the development of parks and the progress of tree plantation. “Since the park is located near the bank of the river Ganga, the security aspects must also be taken care of. Overall, the work being done is very good,” he told the officials accompanying him.He said the creation of green spaces and parks would attract people along with their family members in large numbers. “Therefore, the execution of the ongoing work should be expedited and completion accomplished in time. The entire area will have greenery and will give a beautiful feeling to the visitors,” the CM said.With the ongoing work progressing steadily, the J P Ganga Path is set to emerge as a vibrant public space, offering recreation, greenery and scenic views along the river and enhancing the overall appeal of Patna for residents and visitors alike.JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha accompanied the CM during the inspection. Senior officials present included the CM’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar, secretary Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna divisional commissioner Animesh Parashar, Patna DM Thiyagarajan S M and others.
