INDIA bloc releases manifesto, ‘Tejashwi Pran’, for Bihar polls
Patna: The INDIA bloc on Tuesday released its poll manifesto for Bihar assembly elections, promising jobs and numerous plans to take the state forward in the next five years if it’s able to form the govt in the state.
The 32-page manifesto, containing 25 key points, was released in the presence of opposition leaders, including Pawan Khera from Congress, Dipankar Bhattacharya from CPI-ML, Mukesh Sahani from VIP, and other Left leaders.
The manifesto, nicknamed “Tejashwi Pran” (Tejashwi Resolve), promises to provide a govt job to each family member within 20 months of coming to power and create at least 1.25 crore govt jobs during its five-year tenure.
It also aims to implement a domicile policy to give priority to Bihar youths in employment, regularise contractual jobs, and do away with the outsourcing system.
“We have to save Bihar, not just form a govt,” Tejashwi declared at a joint press conference on Tuesday, adding, “Whenever a Bihari decides to do something, he completes it.”
He said while the INDIA bloc came out with the CM face and also released its manifesto, the NDA has no vision nor plan to develop Bihar. “The NDA has no vision for Bihar... they have not released the manifesto for the polls so far... BJP leaders and corrupt officials have made chief minister Nitish Kumar a puppet... The BJP is using Nitish Kumar to further its interest... Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already made it clear that Nitish will not be the CM face,” the RJD leader alleged.
He said the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act has completely failed, and if the INDIA bloc is voted to power, they will remove the ban on toddy.
The manifesto also promises to implement the old pension scheme, provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women under the Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana, offer 200 units of free power, and create IT parks and special economic zones.
It plans to promote dairy-based and agro-based industries, provide free health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh to persons below the poverty line and set up emergency ICUs in every sub-division.
The manifesto promises to provide all landless people with three decimals of land in urban areas and five decimals in rural areas and ensure a separate judicial system for issues related to Dalit and women torture. Financial assistance up to Rs 2 lakh to one crore poor with a monthly income of Rs 6,000 was also promised.
