RAJGIR: Hundreds of youth, women, elderly persons and even schoolchildren participated in the 'Heritage Walk' from Jarasandh's akhara to Gridhkoot at Rajgir on Monday.
Aimed at imparting knowledge about the places of historical importance and also to create awareness about preserving environment from pollution, the over 2-km-long walk was organized by Nalanda district administration, the co-host of the 15-day Rajgir Mahotsav with Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC).
The Rajgir Mahotsav, which started on November 28, has impressive number of visitors at the stalls selling handicrafts, pickles, blankets and various other items. Hundreds of them also visited the book fair and other stalls.
The 'Warsi Brothers' enthralled the audience with their hit numbers, including 'Chhap tilak sab chini re tose naina milaike'. 'Lavni' folk dance presented by the artists from Maharashtra left the audience spellbound. Several singers and dancers of national and international repute, including those from Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Bhutan, are also scheduled to perform before the festival concludes on December 12.
