Govt urges investors to build quality tourism facilities in state, offers 30% assistance
Patna: State tourism secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Deore on Thursday urged investors to build high-quality tourism facilities across Bihar, stressing the need for star-rated hotels, clean and organised amenities, modern conference halls and amusement parks. He said the state govt is offering up to 30% financial assistance under the Bihar Tourism Policy and encouraged entrepreneurs to utilise this support.
In a virtual meeting held on Thursday with 21 entrepreneurs availing facilities under the Bihar Tourism Policy, the tourism secretary interacted with each participant, who joined from different parts of the state. Deore reviewed the progress of their projects and asked those who had received first-stage approval for grants to apply for the second stage, i.e., financial approval.
Deore further said that entrepreneurs facing delays in loan disbursement from banks should inform the department. He said the tourism department would also hold meetings with bank representatives to facilitate faster loan disbursement. “The department aims to develop tourism facilities in every district so that tourists do not face any inconvenience. For this, all of you should motivate your friends and associates to invest under the tourism policy. The more you work with a spirit of hospitality, not only will your business grow but the state will also become a better choice for tourists,” he said.
Later, he shared a video on X showcasing a hotel built by a young Bihar-based entrepreneur under the tourism policy in West Champaran. The hotel’s architecture resembles that of a palace. “Congratulations on the project being taken up under the Bihar Tourism Policy. I interacted with the project’s entrepreneur today and found him highly enthusiastic and rich in ideas. Such young and dynamic entrepreneurs are essential for expanding the horizons of Bihar tourism,” Deore wrote on X.
