Five schoolgirls injured in Sheikhpura accident
Biharsharif: Five schoolgirls were injured after a tractor collided with an autorickshaw near Bhadaus Mor under Sirari police station area on Sheikhpura-Lakhisarai main road on Monday. The condition of two students is critical.
According to reports, the tractor was moving at a high speed and went out of control before hitting the auto carrying the students. Two of the injured, Neha Kumari (17), daughter of Arun Ram, a resident of Othma village, and Preeti Kumari, a resident of Madari village, are in critical condition. The other injured students have been identified as Anuradha Kumari, also from Madari village, and Nisha Kumari and Rakhi Kumari from the same village. They sustained minor injuries and are said to be stable.
All the injured girls are Intermediate students. They were returning home in an auto after attending classes at a coaching centre in Sheikhpura town when the accident took place.
Local residents rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured students to Sadar Hospital Sheikhpura, where they are receiving treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring the condition of the two critically injured students.
The tractor driver fled after the accident. Police from Sirari station reached the spot after being informed and have started an investigation. SHO Jayprakash Tiwari said efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver, and further action will be taken once a formal complaint is received.
