Fast track clearances for 19 Kendriya Vidyalayas: Govt
Patna: Chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Friday directed departmental secretaries and district magistrates to expedite all pending formalities for the establishment of 19 proposed Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state, following a status report released by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Patna division.
The report details the position of land identification, pending NOC, land transfer, encroachment removal, approach road construction, and the condition of temporary buildings arranged for the schools.
According to the report, suitable land has been identified at several locations, but approvals from departments concerned are still awaited. Approvals are awaited in Bhagalpur town from the health department; Kaimur, Jhanjharpur, and Munger Town from the agriculture department; Rampatti in Madhubani from the animal and fisheries resources department; Bela Industrial Area in Muzaffarpur from Biada; and Walmi in Patna, where departmental NOC is pending.
Suitable land has also been found in Gaya, Katihar, and Darbhanga near AIIMS. In Madhepura, the land transfer process is in progress. In Bhojpur’s Ara town, the selected land is suitable but requires an approach road. In Purnia, the identified land is suitable but encroachments need to be removed before further action.
The report states that alternative suitable land has been identified in Sheikhpura, Sitamarhi, and Nalanda. In Arwal and Patna’s Digha area, the administration is taking steps related to land availability and temporary building arrangements.
Taking note of the pending issues, the chief secretary ordered all departments concerned to issue NOCs for the proposed school sites without delay. DMs have been instructed to remove encroachments, ensure construction of required access roads, and complete land transfer and lease deed formalities on priority.
The chief secretary also reviewed the condition of temporary buildings identified for starting academic activities. In most districts, buildings provided by the state govt, including high schools, colleges, and hostels, were found suitable for temporary use but in need of repairs.
He directed that repair and maintenance work on these temporary structures should begin immediately so that infrastructure and administrative preparations can be completed quickly for the commencement of classes in the proposed Kendriya Vidyalayas.
