Patna: District Magistrate (DM) of Patna, Thiyagarajan S M, on Wednesday directed officials to provide piped natural gas (PNG) connections to consumers in a ‘mission mode’.
Addressing a review meeting at the Collectorate, the DM instructed GAIL to increase the number of contractors and field teams to expedite pipeline installation. Sub-divisional officers were directed to closely monitor the progress of PNG connections in their respective areas. GAIL is regularly organising camps to facilitate domestic piped natural gas (DPNG) connections.
To meet technical requirements, the district administration is coordinating with departments such as the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), rural works department and local ITIs to make trained plumbers available to GAIL. Administrative support is also being extended for laying infrastructure across the city.
The DM said residents can switch from LPG to PNG through digital platforms, adding that GAIL is organising localised camps to help consumers with the registration process.
Officials from the road construction, water resources and supply departments attended the meeting to ensure coordinated expansion of the energy network
