PATNA: A good number of budding entrepreneurs were advised at a seminar here on Friday to be in pursuit of opportunity through innovation, creativity and hard work if they wanted to establish their industry and business for a potential market.
The seminar, “Disha nidesh, was organised by the National Small Industry Corporation (NSIC). “Bill Gates had the vision of ‘computers in every home’ when he started his enterprise and he turned this into reality, said an IIM alumnus and PNB official Amar K Tigga.
“An entrepreneur should be a vision-driven individual with dedication and readiness to take personal and financial risk before starting business, Tigga said, adding the entrepreneur should have flexibility and ability to do well in the changing market environment.
Prof Nandgopal of PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore, dwelt at length on “SWOT analysis; that is, identifying one’s Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat.
PNB zonal training centre’s chief Rajan Kumar told the entrepreneurs to “dream but keep the eyes open while visualising the projects. “It is the man who drives the enterprise. It is the vision that drives the industry, he said.
The NSIC regional manager, Kolkata, S K Ahluwalia, suggested to design the customer profile. The customer should be decisive and should have buying power. This should be kept in mind while marketing the product, he added. NS-IC senior manager P V Rao explained NSIC’s hire-purchase schemes for the entrepreneurs.
