Patna: The body of a 70-year-old man, Balmiki Prasad, was recovered early on Saturday morning from Malhipur Bind Tola in Kaswa Diara, under the jurisdiction of Maranchi police station in Patna.
Superintendent of police (rural) Kundan Kumar, sub-divisional police officer I of Barh Ram Krishna, and personnel from the local police station immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene. The SDPO said preliminary examination suggested the man was murdered under suspicious circumstances on Friday night.
“An FSL team, dog squad, technical experts were called to the location. The crime scene was fully secured, and all possible technical and human evidence was meticulously collected from the site. Upon examining the crime scene, it appears that he was murdered by some individuals under suspicious circumstances. Action will be taken by exploring all the angles. Meanwhile, the family members have filed an FIR against unknown persons,” Krishna said.
A formal case has been registered at Maranchi police station based on the FIR lodged by the deceased’s family members against unidentified accused. Police have launched a detailed investigation and are working on all possible leads to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest.
