Edu ministry awards research project to IIT-P

Patna: In a positive development, the union education ministry has awarded a multidisciplinary research project to the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-P). It has been awarded on the recommendation of the apex committee of the scheme for promotion of academic and research collaboration (SPARC) of the ministry.
The research project entitled “Educational interventions for development in Bihar” will be completed by the faculty members of IIT-P in collaboration with the faculties of the leading US universities. Aditya Raj of the department of humanities and social sciences, IITP, is the principal investigator of the project, while Monica Prasad of John Hopkins University, Debarchana Ghosh of the University of Connecticut, Jeffrey Witose of Union College, Chicago, US and Papiya Raj, from IIT-P are the co-investigators of the project.
Giving details of the project, principal investigator Aditya Raj told this newspaper that the main aim of the project was to design low-cost educational interventions that would promote growth, cultivation of growth mindset both at the individual as well as community level. He said even though Bihar boasted of a glorious academic past, its present scenario was not so bright.
