BHAGALPUR: Hectic preparations are on for the maiden visit of deputy chief minister
Tejashwi Yadav here on Wednesday.
The deputy CM, who is also the state road construction minister, would review the development work, especially those related to road construction, besides participating in several other programmes organized by his party during his two-day visit.
Tejashwi, who was earlier scheduled to reach Bhagalpur by a state government aircraft, will now travel by road from the state capital to get a first-hand experience of NH-80 and NH-31 besides the state highways. It may be mentioned here that both NH-80 which connects Bhagalpur to Pirpainty and the
Bhagalpur-Bounsi
road, are in a dilapidated state since long, while rain and floodwater has further worsened the condition.
Pirpainty RJD MLA Ram Bilas Paswan, Kahalgaon Congress MLA and Nathnagar JD (U)
MLA Ajay Mandal
had earlier requested the RCD minister to personally supervise the condition of NH-80.
This national highway is one of the most important roads as it connects Bhagalpur with Jharkhand. Sources said the deputy CM will visit
Vikramshila Setu
across Ganga and Vijay Ghat bridge across river Kosi.
He is also scheduled to inaugurate the registration-cum-counselling centre at Barari and the Press Club on the public relations department premises here.
On July 29, the deputy CM would discuss various aspects related to construction of another bridge across the Ganga, parallel to Vikramshila Setu with the RCD engineers and officials.
He will also inaugurate the minorities hostel besides participating in the 'jan samwad' programme to be organized by the youth wing of RJD at Sandy's Compound ground.
