Motihari: To strengthen healthcare services in the district, a critical care ward is being constructed at Motihari Sadar Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore. Once completed, it is expected to provide treatment facilities comparable to those available in an ICU.A new modern hospital building is also under construction and is expected to be completed this year.Civil surgeon Ravi Bhushan Srivastav said the critical care unit, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, would improve emergency care for patients with serious conditions and prove to be a major boost for this border district. The critical care ward will have 50 beds.He added that a separate air-conditioned ward for senior citizens would start functioning soon at the hospital.In addition, a new shed has been constructed for the mother and child care unit, where attendants of pregnant women are being provided with basic living facilities by the hospital.
