CPI-ML to hold 'Khabardar Rally' on October 30

PATNA: CPI-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Thursday announced plan to hold a statewide "Khabardar rally" on October 30 to protest the alleged failure of state and central governments in checking price rise and increase in incidents of feudal and communal conspiracies in the last few months.
Addressing a press conference here, Bhattacharya said, "We will also stage a 'Swabhiman rally' to protest the atrocities against dalits at village Baddi in Rohtas district, at Sasaram on September 15."
Alleging the collapse of state machinery, Bhattacharya said, "Saran midday meal tragedy, Madhubani, Bagaha and Purnia police firings and many other incidents are uncovering the true face of Nitish government." He added the CPI-ML would also stage a daylong dharna to protest "insensitivity" of the state government shown in the above-mentioned cases. He also demanded that Bihar should be declared drought hit. Calling the provisions of the Food Security Bill insufficient, Bhattacharya said, "The bill will not benefit the genuinely poor families."
