PATNA: Taking a break from his engagements, CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday offered `chadar' at the Hajrat Makhdoom Saiyyad Shahabuddin Peer Jangjot Rahamtullah Aleh Kutchi Dargah Jethuli Sharif Mazar in Patna City.
He was welcomed there by Minority Commission chairman Naushad Ahmad and others. After offering `chadar' and `gulposhi', Nitish sought blessings for all-round development of the state and peace in the state.
Later, Nitish inspected the neighbouring localities and directed the local officials to accelerate the beautification drive in and around the dargah and other development projects there.
Talking to the mediapersons, Nitish said that people come from far flung areas to seek the blessings of Hazrat Makhdoom Saiyyad Shahabuddin Peer Jangjot Rahamtullah Aleh at Kutchi Dargah.
He said that he also prayed for all-round development of the state and communal harmony. He said that the area around the dargah is being developed in a systematic way. Initially, the place needed boulder pitching and that work has started to stop erosion of land around it. Nitish announced that a waiting room would be soon constructed and this particular area would be developed in every way.
JD(U) Rajya Sabha members Shivanand Tiwary and Ramchandra Prasad Singh, water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, DM Jitendra Kumar Sinha and SSP Bachchu Singh Meena were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Nitish visited the PMCH and met his mother, who is admitted there. After this, the CM reached the PMCH Cottage Ward, where he met JD(U) MLA from Rupauli Bima Bharti and inquired about her health. He directed the PMCH officials to provide her the best possible treatment. Bharti was admitted to the PMCH after her husband assaulted her mercilessly recently.
