CM inspects centre of excellence at Motihari ITI, stresses quality skill training
Patna: All govt-run industrial training institutes (ITIs) in the state have been provided with centres of excellence (CoEs), developed by Tata Technology, to train and produce skilled manpower. This initiative aims to meet global market demands. It will also help ensure that trained candidates are absorbed by companies requiring highly skilled workers, a labour resource department (LRD) communique said.
Out of 151 ITIs in the state, the CoEs have been established at 149 centres.
CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inspected one such women’s ITI and CoE established at Motihari during his Samriddhi Yatra in East Champaran district. The CM asked the officials concerned to ensure that the quality of training is maintained to comply with the motive behind opening of CoEs.
The LRD said Tata Technology has been working with 20 global industrial partners to develop CoEs, and in the process, has also developed 23 special ITI courses which have been introduced to give training to the students.
“The students being trained at the institutes are not only being enabled to use and adopt skills to comply with new technologies to meet the global market demands, but are also suitably trained to meet the employers’ needs. They have also been trained to suit the needs of the technology and industry in the micro small medium enterprises (MSME) sector,” the communique said.
