CM asks officials to expedite work on Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan (LNJPN) hospital
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspected the ongoing construction work of a six-storey building at the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan (LNJPN) Super Speciality Hospital in the Rajvanshi Nagar area of the state capital and directed officials to complete the construction work speedily.
The construction work is estimated to be completed by March 2026, an official said.
During the inspection, the CM directed officials to quickly complete the construction work of the 400-bed super speciality hospital building for orthopaedic diseases. “Our objective is to provide state-of-the-art treatment facilities to patients under one roof. For this purpose, the LNJPN hospital is being developed as a super speciality hospital for orthopaedic diseases, and a new building is being constructed,” he said.
Nitish also sought information about the arrangements at the hospital there. He inquired about the health facilities from patients and their attendants present there. He told the officials that there should be no laxity in their treatment.
“In 2012, the CM announced the development of the LNJPN Hospital as a super speciality hospital, where good arrangements for all types of treatment related to orthopaedic diseases were available. In this light, approval was granted for the construction of a 400-bed hospital building at a cost of Rs215 crore on the hospital premises. The construction work of the six-storey hospital building is going on and it will be completed by March 2026. The upcoming building has arrangements for parking of 250 vehicles, six lifts, six operation theatres, 42 ICU beds, 15 private wards, etc,” a communique issued from the chief minister’s office (CMO) said.
“A total of 140 posts, including 66 doctors, were created for the hospital. Once the hospital starts functioning, patients with orthopaedic diseases will benefit greatly,” the communique said.
During the inspection, CM’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar; CM’s secretaries Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh; district magistrate Thiyagarajan SM, along with other senior officials, were present.
