Telephone line disrupted: The Patna telephone district has maintained that connecting links of Hanuman Nagar has been disrupted due to digging with spade for laying of sewerage pipes there. It has affected the functioning of 400 telephone lines at Hanuman Nagar. They stated that efforts to restore the optical fibre cable is being made on war footing, but the telephones would be repaired by June 5.
Rally against parties: Supporters of Janmukti Sangharsh Vahini took out a rally in support of ‘Nirdaliya Navnirman’. Various speakers expressed resentment over the performance of various political parties after the 1974 agitation. They stressed the need to bring all constructive forces under one umbrella to give hope to the people of the state.
College teachers’ threat: A group of college teachers held a meeting under the leadership of S K Yadav and threatened to lock up the state college service commission office if it failed to publish results. They demanded publication of results and threatened to gherao the office if it failed to publish the results till June 10.
Films by French director: Cine Society, Patna is going to do a film session of renowned French director Luis Bunuel on June 19 and 20. The session will consist of screening of Bunuel films ‘That Obscure Object of Desire’ and ‘The Diary of a Chamber Maid’. Cine Society will be getting the films from its parent body The Federation of Film Societies of India.
