GAYA: Lok Janshakti party (Ram Vilas) president and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan on Tuesday took a dig at CM Nitish Kumar's efforts to unite the opposition parties against BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and said the move collapsed even before taking shape.

Chirag, who reached Gaya to participate in a private function, said, "He (Nitish) had come to power in Bihar as an alternative to 'jungle raj', but today the situation of Mahajungle raj is prevailing in the state.

The CM does not meet a single victim family though he is the state's home minister too."Regarding the opposition unity bid, he said, "Just wait till 12th and it will become clear. The race for prime minister's post is such that the opposition can never get united."

On the opposition's boycott of new parliament building inauguration function, he said, "There is no scope for controversy about this. Every political party was raising this demand for a long time. It is a matter of pride that India has got a new parliament house and the world is watching it."
