Boy, girl found hanging from tree in West Champaran
Bettiah: The bodies of a teenage boy and girl were found hanging from a tree with the same noose in an orchard at Sirisiya village under the Sikta police station area of West Champaran district on Saturday morning, police said. The deceased have been identified as 15-year-old Saidullah Alam and 14-year-old Sahdun Nesha, both residents of Sirisiya village.Narkatiaganj SDPO Jayaprakash Singh said the Sikta police and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team reached the spot after receiving information from villagers. The bodies were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem to the Govt Medical College and Hospital in Bettiah.

He further said that family members told police the teenagers had dinner at their respective homes on Friday night and then went to sleep. However, when relatives woke up for ‘sehri’ early Saturday, they found both missing. The families searched the surrounding areas but could not find any trace. Later, some villagers spotted the bodies hanging from a tree in a nearby orchard and informed the police.The SDPO said, “We are investigating the case from all possible angles, including the possibility of a love affair. The cause of the death will be clear only after the post-mortem report is received.”
