BJP threatens Nalanda bandh on March 5

Biharsharif: Former deputy CM and senior BJP member Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday said the BJP would stall the assembly proceedings on Tuesday and organize Nalanda bandh on March 5 if Biharsharif minor girl's rape accused Nawada RJD MLA Rajballabh Yadav was not arrested by then.

Participating in the daylong dharna organized by the NDA at Biharsharif hospital demanding Yadav's immediate arrest, Modi claimed the law and order in Bihar had crippled. "The glaring example of this is RJD MLA, who has not been arrested more than 20 days after committing the crime on February 6."

He accused CM Nitish Kumar and the local police of affecting investigation under Lalu Prasad's influence. "Previous SP Vivekanand Mondal was taking the investigation in the right direction, but he was punished and transferred," said Modi and praised DIG (central range) Shalin for taking steps to ensure justice to the survivor.

He accused the police of being soft on Rajballabh's son Akhilesh Yadav, RJD Nawada president Mahendra Yadav and Rajauli MLA Prakash Veer who spoke in favour of the accused lawmaker.
