Bihar: Two more to be arrested in constable’s murder inside Danapur court

PATNA: Police were yet to arrest two more suspects involved in killing of a police constable inside Danapur sub-divisional court premises during escape attempt by an under-trial criminal on Wednesday.
Danapur police station SHO Rajesh Kumar Sinha said that among the two suspects, one is Gautam Kumar from Gaya district.
"Things would further get clarified after the two are arrested," he said.

One Mohammad Meraj was produced at the court and was being taken back to Beur central jail when he attempted to flee from court premises after pushing a constable.
While fleeing, at least two of his associates who were present inside the court, handed Meraj a semi-automatic country made pistol using which he shot dead a constable Prabakhar Raj when he reached to nab him. Raj was shot in head from a close range.
Meraj had almost managed to flee but was later nabbed by police after they gave him a chase on foot.
Later, Meraj’s girlfriend Reshma Kumari and one of his associate Mohammad Munauwwar were also arrested by police from different locations for hatching the conspiracy to free Meraj.
The SHO said that the plan was hatched mainly by Reshma and she was working on it since June 5. SHO Sinha said that Meraj was accused in at least six criminal cases while Munauwwar had also been to jail twice in the past.
