Bihar shocker: Youth abducted, beaten after being asked about religion; FIR against 10

PATNA: A disturbing video of a young man being brutally beaten after being asked about his religion has gone viral on social media in Gopalganj. The victim, Bigu Kumar Sah, has filed a written complaint alleging that he was abducted by 8-10 youths on August 12 and taken to Fatha Dargah, where he was beaten after being asked about his religion. The police have registered an FIR against 10 people based on the complaint and video footage. Although no arrests have been made yet, the police are monitoring social media activities.Gopalganj SP Avadesh Dixit has assured that strict action will be taken against those who try to disrupt social harmony.He also mentioned that a similar incident occurred 15 days ago in the Uchka Gawn police station area, where a video of a young man being beaten surfaced. Both cases are being addressed.“Around 40 social media accounts have been identified that have posted inflammatory and communal content, and FIRs will be registered against them as well”, Dixit said.Town SHO, Pravin Kumar Prabhakar said that the incident has sparked outrage among various organizations, which have demanded strict action against the perpetrators. The police are investigating the matter and taking steps to prevent such incidents in the future, he added.
