Three Bihar IPS officers promoted, two given new roles

Patna: Three Bihar-cadre IPS officers were promoted, while other two were given new responsibilities in the state police. A notification in this regard was issued by the home department late Wednesday evening.
According to the notification, senior IPS officer of the 1996-batch, Sudhanshu Kumar, who was serving as ADG, traffic, and holding additional charge of civil defence, Bihar, was relieved of the additional charge.
Anusuya Ransingh Sahu, a 2006-batch IPS officer, currently holding the charge of DIG of civil defence, Bihar, Patna, was promoted to IG of the same department.
Vivek Kumar, a 2007-batch IPS officer, currently posted as SP, law and order, Patna, was promoted and shifted as the DIG of the crime investigation department (CID).
Meanwhile, the 2009-batch IPS officer, Mohammad Faroguddin, posted as commandant of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), was promoted and shifted to the homeguard and fire services department as DIG-cum-deputy commandant general.
The DIG of homeguard and fire services, Mrityunjay Kumar Choudhary (2010-batch), was transferred as DIG of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau.
