Patna: Bihar Gramin Bank Chairman Mukul Sahay on Tuesday said the merger of Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank and Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank, following a notification earlier this year, resulted in the formation of the unified Bihar Gramin Bank (BGB).Sahay said with this extensive network, BGB has emerged as the largest bank in Bihar in terms of branch presence. “With this reach, Bihar Gramin Bank has become the third-largest bank in the state, providing banking services to more than 3.5 crore customers across every block and town of Bihar. The bank now commands a 27% market share in the state,” he said.He also highlighted the bank’s efforts to actively promote financial literacy across the state through mobile awareness vans, street plays, and outreach programmes, conducted with the support of Nabard.
