Patna: Newly appointed divisional commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar after assuming the charge on Saturday said his priority will be to conduct the upcoming assembly elections in a fair manner, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission. Preparations for the polls across all six districts under the division will be reviewed regularly, he said.
Parashar, who was previously serving as the Patna Municipal Corporation commissioner, took over the post from the former divisional commissioner Chandrashekhar Singh.
“Strict compliance with the model code of conduct will be ensured. There will be no compromise on the maintenance of law and order,” he said.
He further said transparency and accountability will be ensured in administrative functions, besides quality implementation of ongoing schemes will be made. Matters of public interest will be given the highest priority. The work of all districts under the Patna division—Patna, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, and Kaimur—will be duly monitored.
After taking charge, the commissioner interacted with the officers and directed them to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the target beneficiaries.
