PATNA: BJP president
Amit Shah and Union finance minister
Arun Jaitley will jointly release the party’s vision document on Thursday for the October-November state assembly elections.
State BJP chief Mangal Pandey said the party’s vision document would be different from usual manifesto, adding that its details and salient points would come in public domain on Thursday.
A state BJP delegation comprising vice president Sanjay Mayukh and party’s election cell functionary Radhika Raman, among others, called on state chief electoral officer (CEO), pleading that an FIR should also be lodged against CM Nitish Kumar for the announcements he was making for students and youths in his election rallies.
“The Kaimur DM ordered that an FIR be lodged against former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi for offering sops. The CM has also been making similar announcements, but no FIR has yet been filed against him,” Pandey said.
State BJP chief also said that the officials of the state government have been acting partially in ordering filing of FIR against the BJP star campaigners.
He took exception to the killing of a media person at Sitamarhi on Tuesday by anti-social elements and beating of another journalist in the Samastipur market on Wednesday. Taking this as an instance of fast deteriorating law and order situation, Pandey said action should be taken against those involved in the twin attacks.
Meanwhile, many district level JD(U) and RJD functionaries from various districts, including Muzaffarpur and Patna, joined the BJP on Wednesday. Pandey said the ‘khaas baat (special aspect)’ of their joining the BJP was that they all belong to extremely backward caste (EBC) sections, implying that the EBC cells of the JD(U) and RJD were being denuded of their manpower.
