JAMSHEDPUR: Joining the bandwagon of boycotters, the All Jharkhand Students' Union (AJSU), Besra group, here on Wednesday announced to stay away from the government-sponsored function to celebrate the second anniversary of Jharkhand state on November 15.

JAMSHEDPUR: Joining the bandwagon of boycotters, the All Jharkhand Students'' Union (AJSU), Besra group, here on Wednesday announced to stay away from the government-sponsored function to celebrate the second anniversary of Jharkhand state on November 15.
Party general secretary Surya Singh Besra said the AJSU (Besra) has decided to boycott the function because there "was nothing to celebrate" in the newly crated state.

"The Babula Marandi-led government has failed on all the fronts and does not have the right to organise such functions. It''s performance has been worse than the Laloo-Rabri Devi regime."
Besra accused the government of unnecessarily wasting crores of rupees on film starts being invited for the November 15 functions. "It''s a cheap publicity stunt of the government that has forgotten the sacrifice of hundreds of people for the separate Jharkhand state."
The AJSU (Besra) is the latest political outfit in the state to declare the boycott of the state function to celebrate the creation of Jharkhand.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will be holding a parallel rally at Godda on November 15. And, Jharkhand Disom Party has announced for bandh in protest against the anti-tribal policies of the government.
Besra said the AJSU-JPP combine plans to launch satyagraha movement at Ranchi on November 15. "We''ll take pledge to outs the government and end the culture of corruption in the state."

The leader observed the government has only managed to divide the society on the reservation and the domicile issues. He demanded the restoration of 73 per cent reservation in the state.
Besra said his party was contemplating to file a PIL in the High Court for an inquiry into the alleged ill-gotten wealth the ministers.
He alleged that ministers have been indulging in corrupt practices and should declare the income and assets.
