Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) and district administration held a ‘town vending committee’ meeting to regulate street vending on major routes, including Ashiana-Digha Road, Bailey Road, and Patna Junction.
Municipal commissioner Yashpal Meena said the aim of organising the meeting is to make Patna encroachment-free and improve traffic flow while providing safe and permanent locations for the vendors.
A joint team will survey key roads to implement an organised vending model. Vendors pledged to cooperate with the district administration. Discussions focused on relocating vendors from congested areas and providing social security, including PMSVANidhi loans. Officials agreed to immediately implement decisions and monitor vending zone development.
