656 doctors to be appointed

PATNA: Health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Wednesday gave his approval to recruitment of 656 doctors and para-medical staff to be posted in hospitals in 11 districts of the state.
The proposal would now be kept before the state cabinet for its sanction.
The posts for which approval was given include those of superintendent (10), physician (15), general surgery (13), gynaecologist (12), skin specialist (6), paediatrician (11), anaesthesia (15), ENT (6), ophthalmology (5), orthopaedic (6), dentist (10), pathology (9), general physician and gynaecologist (63) and physiotherapist (5).Filling up of these posts would put an additional burden of Rs 15.5 lakh annually on the state exchequer.
The state health department also gave regular promotion to teachers posted in medical colleges.
