3 Maoists held in Muz village


Muzaffarpur: Three Maoists including a self-styled area commander Md Wasim Akram, who were wanted in more than a dozen cases were arrested from Andaul village under Baruraj PS on Wednesday.

SSP Ranjeet Kumar Mishra said, "Four country-made pistols, 12 live cartridges, five packets of heroine, one knife and 14 Maoist handouts were recovered from their possession."

The arrested Maoists, besides Akram, have been identified as Umesh Mahto of Birahiya village and Raja Babu of Andaul village, both under Baruraj PS. The criminal background of the fourth person is being verified.

The SSP said a special task force of district police raided the village on a confidential information that some Maoists had gathered in the house of one Akram to commit some major crime in the area.Policemen surrounded Akram's house and nabbed all the Maoists .
