24 held for celebratory firing, consuming liquor in Bhojpur
Ara: Bhojpur police on Thursday arrested 24 people for indulging in celebratory firing and consuming liquor during a ‘Chhathi party’ of a newborn child at Badka Gaon village under Gajrajganj police station area of Bhojpur.Addressing a press conference in the evening, Bhojpur SP Raj said, “Gajrajganj police station received information that some people were dancing, brandishing illegal weapons, and consuming alcohol at a ‘Chhathi party’ at Hare Ram Yadav’s house in Badka Gaon village. A special police team was immediately formed to nab the culprits.”

When the police team cordoned off the area and searched the house, several people were found dancing in an inebriated state and in possession of illegal weapons. “We arrested 24 people from the spot. Medical examination confirmed all were drunk. The police also seized a pistol and three used cartridges fired during the party,” the SP said.
