Patna: Three people, including two schoolchildren, were killed on Sunday afternoon when a speeding truck collided with an autorickshaw carrying students in Saran district. The accident, which occurred near the old bridge in Haranbadha under Maker police station on NH-722, also left more than six children seriously injured.
According to police, the students of a private school in Maker were returning home when the truck rammed into their auto head-on. The impact was so severe that the auto overturned, killing its driver and two children instantly.
“Among the deceased are six-year-old Mishti Kumari, another student, and the auto driver, whose identity has not yet been determined. The student’s identity is not clear yet as the body was taken away by the family before the arrival of the police. The incident occurred around 2.30pm near the old bridge in Haranbadha, within the Maker police station area on NH-722,” said Maker SHO Pappu Kumar.
The truck driver fled the spot after the collision.
