2 job aspirants die after being run over by tractor in Gaya
Gaya: Two job aspirants died after being run over by a speeding sand-laden tractor near the Shani temple adjacent to Bata Mor under Kotwali police station area in Gaya on Sunday morning.The incident occurred barely 200 metres from the main entrance of Gaya Junction when the victims were walking towards the railway station. The deceased were identified as Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarpur, and Ashutosh Kumar of Bhojpur district. Both had arrived in Gaya to appear in the competitive examination for the post of civil court attendant.According to eyewitnesses, the speeding tractor first hit the two men and then rammed into a roadside food cart. Cart owner, Jitan Sao, said his cart and raw materials used for preparing food were badly damaged.Following the incident, locals blocked the road near the Shani temple, expressing anger over the unchecked movement of speeding sand-laden tractors in the area. Kotwali police pacified the protesters and later cleared the blockade to restore traffic movement.Kotwali SHO Dhananjay Singh said the police seized the tractor and arrested the driver. “The families of the deceased have been informed, and the bodies were sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem,” he said.
