PATNA: A 19-year-old man, found severely injured at Malhipur Bahiyar village in Begusarai district on Sunday morning, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at sadar hospital in the evening.
Local villagers first spotted Vikash Kumar, a resident of Maheshpur panchayat, lying severely wounded with deep cuts and thrashing marks early in the morning. Suspecting him to be dead initially, they informed the local Teyai outpost in-charge, Chandrakant Kumar.
The police team saw some movement in the victim's body and rushed him to the local primary health centre (PHC) at Bhagwanpur from where he was referred to sadar hospital. He died during treatment at the sadar hospital in the evening.
Chandrakant said the youngster was identified by his photographs circulated in the area.
"The victim had wounds on his head and body inflicted with some sharp-edged weapon. It seems he was also thrashed badly. A complaint has been filed by the family members. Prima facie, the incident seems to have taken place over some personal enmity. Further investigations are on."
