17 held for attack on CM Nitish Kumar cavalcade

BUXAR/PATNA: Police arrested 17 people till Saturday evening in connection with the attack on chief minister (CM) Nitish Kumar's convoy at Nandan village under the Dumraon police station area in Buxar district during his Vikas Samiksha Yatra on Friday.
The CM's convoy was pelted with stones, but he was taken out of the village safely. While eight police personnel, including Dumraon police station SHO Subodh Kumar, received minor injuries, at least eight vehicles in the CM convoy were damaged in the attack.
Patna zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan said 12 FIRs were in process of getting lodged against people who were involved in the attack or hatching the conspiracy. TNN
