Woman shoots self, in-laws under scanner
Ghaziabad: A 28-year-old woman allegedly shot herself dead in her house in the upscale Rajnagar locality on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the crime took place around 4.30 pm in Sector 6, Rajnagar. “Madhulika Pandey, wife of one Bhupender Pandey, shot herself from the licenced pistol of her father-in-law after locking the room from inside,” said Awdesh Yadav, SHO, Kavinagar police station.
“Hearing the gunshot, family members rushed to her room and had to break open the door where they found Madhulika in a pool of blood,” said the SHO. “She was rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar but was declared brought dead,” he added.
Madhulika got married to city-based businessman Bhupender Pandey in January 2014 and ever since her marriage she used to stay in house number R-6/226 with her in-laws. Her husband deals in steel and according to police, she was depressed reportedly because the couple did not have any child even after more than two years of marriage.
