Noida: A 19-year-old lab technician trainee at Child PGI in Sector 30 died by suicide in his hostel room on Monday night.According to police, the student returned to the institute after a visit home on Saturday. He stayed in a shared room at the hostel, but his roommate was visiting home at the time of the incident. Around 10pm on Monday, his father contacted the institute and asked that someone check on him. The warden knocked on the door but got no response. Eventually, staff broke down the door and found the teenager’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.“We immediately informed the police. A suicide note was also recovered, which the police have taken,” said Dr AK Singh, director at Noida Child PGI.Police reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem investigation. The student’s family was also informed. A suicide note was recovered from the room, which said: “I do not wish to trouble anyone. I have become a burden on everyone. I needed to earn money. I am very unhappy.”According to police, investigation revealed that the student appeared distressed for a few days. Cops are currently examining the contents of the suicide note, they added.
