Traffic curbs in Ghaziabad ahead of PM Modi’s Meerut visit
Ghaziabad: Traffic diversions will be in place on Feb 22 in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Meerut to inaugurate the 82-km Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and the Meerut Metro. The restrictions will remain effective from 6am until the conclusion of the event.DCP (traffic) Trigun Bisen said the movement of heavy commercial vehicles and private four-wheelers, three-wheelers and two-wheelers from Rajchoupla Modinagar towards Mohiuddinpur in Meerut will be completely prohibited.
All heavy commercial vehicles and private buses travelling from Ghaziabad to Meerut will be completely prohibited on the Modinagar-Meerut route. Such vehicles have been advised to use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via Duhai.All heavy commercial vehicles and private vehicles coming from the Kundli and Palwal side through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway will not be permitted to exit at Duhai towards Ghaziabad. They must continue via the Delhi–Meerut Expressway, Dasna interchange and NH-9.Police said vehicles heading towards Meerut through Rajchoupla Modinagar using internal and link roads will also be restricted. These vehicles may use the Bhojpur–Hapur route instead to travel towards Meerut. In addition, heavy commercial vehicles and buses moving from Bhojpur and Niwadi towards Rajchoupla Modinagar will not be allowed during the restriction period.Movement of heavy commercial vehicles and private buses towards Meerut on the Muradnagar–Modinagar–Niwadi route via Gangnahar Patri will remain prohibited.
