Noida: Unauthorised parking across the city has led the NCR RWAs to write to Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman, district magistrate Nagendra Prasad Singh and SSP Kiran S to put an end to the illegal act that causes traffic jams everywhere. The step was spurred by complaints regarding illegal parking attendants on the city roads.
Demanding immediate action, the Confederation of NCR RWAs (CONRWA) maintained that parking attendants indulged in unauthorised parking to make a fast buck.

"We've been getting complaints that parking attendants of designated parking lots across the city are flouting all rules by allowing two-three rows of parking where only one row is officially sanctioned. The encroachment of roads creates long traffic jams, especially during peak hours," said P S Jain, president CONRWA.
Jain said single lane parking was not followed anywhere in the city. "The newly beautified Sector 18 market which has a pedestrian walkway across the market ensures single-lane driving. There's no parking facility inside the market but, thanks to parking attendants, you can now see cars parked along the footpaths. This leaves no room for shoppers to walk freely. This unauthorised parking needs to be stopped and hence we've demanded necessary action from Authority CEO Rama Raman as well as district magistrate N P Singh," Jain said.
CONRWA officials said even on narrow roads where no authorised parking is sanctioned, rows of parked cars can be seen. "These are usually local markets of respective sectors which do not have broad roads. Many such roads in residential sectors do not allow car parkings, but even there one can see road encroachment leading to chaos and jams," said Chetan Sharma, general secretary of CONRWA.
CONRWA has also urged the senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar, to bust the unauthorised parking mafia.
