NOIDA: The opposition group at the recent Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) elections, led by Dinesh Bhati, held a meeting on Friday evening in the Sector 50 community centre to analyse the causes of their defeat.
They plan to take up the issue of abolishing lifetime membership in FONRWA and to be a constructive opposition. They felicitated treasurer O P Yadav, joint treasurer Yogendra Sharma, secretary Sukhdev Sharma and joint secretaries Tarachand Gaur and Shiv Kumar Tiwari.
The meeting was presided by M R Bawa .
Members of the 32 RWAs who had supported the Bhati group were present in the meeting. The group also raised objection on life members of the RWA federation as it encourages undemocratic precedents. Currently there are 12 life members in the RWA umbrella body.
When contacted, N P Singh, president FONRWA maintained that life members were formed according to laws of the federation. He added that the RWA body needs people with experience and skill to take up issues of Noida residents rather than bickering individuals.
