Nov 18 will entail screening of critically acclaimed film Masaan followed by a question and answer session with the film’s director Neeraj Ghaiwan. Raju Parsekar, Ashok Tyagi, nine times national award winning director T S Nagabharana, actors Yashpal Sharma, Dominique Swain Polish cultural councillor and more are expected to grace the occasion.
The day will also hold a Shammi Kapoor retrospective followed by the screening of his popular film Professor. The final day of the festival (Nov 19) will screen director Ashu Trikha’s popular film Koylanchal followed by a seminar on film business, copywrite and legal aspect of cinema. Guests on the occasion will be Pahlaj Nilhani, Anil Nagrath, Ashu Trikha, Meghna Patel, Rakesh Kumar, national award winning cinematographer Nadeem Khan and more.
The festival will also entail workshop on contemporary digital cinema by cinematographer Nadeem Khan, fashion shows, cultural events, musical and dance performances, photography and painting exhibitions followed by an awards night. “Noida, and especially Film City, is an emerging media and entertainment hub in Delhi NCR. It has become the favourite destination of film makers for the shooting of their films, and the day is not far when this prime location will become a film production centre at par with Mumbai,” said Sandeep Marwah founder Asian Society of Film and Television (AAFT).
According to Marwah the aim of AAFT in organising GFFN is to promote Delhi NCR as the favourite destination for the film makers. Established in 1993, AAFT has trained approximately 17,000 media professionals from across India as well as 120 countries.
