NOIDA: A security guard was allegedly assaulted by a delivery executive and two of his associates at Wish Town's Kosmos-A apartments in Sector 134 late on Tuesday night after he stopped the rider from entering the condominium through a lane reserved for residents. Police have so far arrested the main accused, who works with a food delivery company.
In a complaint to the Expressway police station, Kosmos AOA said the incident occurred around 11pm near Gate No. 6, where the guard, Yogesh, was on duty alone. The AOA said one of the entry lanes is earmarked exclusively for residents' vehicles. When Yogesh asked the accused, Gajendra, to use the designated lane in line with society rules, a scuffle broke out.
Police said Gajendra allegedly threatened the guard and rode away, only to return minutes later with two associates. The three allegedly attacked Yogesh, punching and striking him on the head, before fleeing as he collapsed to the ground.
According to Yogesh, he lay injured near the gate for several minutes before residents noticed him and rushed him to hospital.
Gajendra was arrested on Wednesday under BNS sections 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons) and 351(1) (criminal intimidation). Police said efforts are on to trace his associates.
The AOA said such incidents pose a serious threat to residents' safety and urged police to ensure strict action against all those involved.
