Farm worker beats boss to death with pipe, held
The accused was arrested hours after the murder
NOIDA: A farm worker was arrested on Friday for allegedly beating his boss to death with a pipe following an argument between the two in Khatana village under the Jarcha police station area. Cops said they also recovered the murder weapon.Prashant Singh, the son of a former village head of Khatana village, managed a poultry farm located around 2km from the village, where he also constructed a small farmhouse. Accused Yashveer Jatav, a resident of Bulandshahr, had been working at the farm for some time.According to police, Prashant and Yashveer were drinking alcohol together at the farmhouse on Friday night. Around 10pm, an argument broke out and the dispute escalated when Prashant allegedly scolded and slapped Yashveer, which angered the worker. Later that night, around 11.30pm, Yashveer allegedly attacked him with an iron pipe. Yashveer struck multiple blows to his head, leaving Prashant critically injured.Prashant was found soon after and rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Prashant’s brother then alerted the police, who reached the scene and initiated an investigation.
An FIR was subsequently registered under BNS Section 103 (murder).Police said that Yashveer was planning on absconding, but cops managed to track him down hours after the crime on Saturday. He was arrested and the iron pipe used in the murder was also recovered from his possession. The accused has since been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway, police added.
