NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) removed encroachment from over 63,000 sqm of land in the last two days.

On Thursday, the drive was conducted in Kheda Chaunganpur and Bishrakh Jalalpur villages. Altogether about 28,000 sqm of land was cleared, estimated to be priced around Rs 57 crore. In these two places, 6% abadi plots have been planned for farmers.

"There was encroachment over 20,000 sqm of land in Kheda Chaunganpur since 2008. Developers were building illegal colonies on this land. The cost of this land has been estimated to be around Rs 41 crore," said GNIDA general manager Salil Yadav After Chauganpur, the team vacated about 8,000 sqm land in Bisrakh Jalalpur. A similar drive was carried out in which encroachment on 35,000 sqm land in Sunpura was removed.
