NOIDA: Police on Saturday night arrested five criminals and recovered

valuables worth Rs 15 lakh

which they had stolen from different companies in Noida.

The accused have been identified as Shabab (19), Tufail (20) and Sanjay Yadav (22), residents of Bisrakh, Magna (20), a resident of Sahibabad, and Brajlal (45), the scrap dealer who bought stolen goods. Police have recovered 8 LEDs, nine laptops, four mobile phones, two tablets and a Maruti Eeco from their possession.

, SP (city) Noida, said that the thieves had stolen the goods from a private company in Sector 58 last week. “They sneaked into the factory when the security guard was sleeping. They found the key of lock in guard’s pocket and swiftly entered the premises. They fled from the spot with the valuable,” he said.

When the security guard woke up, he informed the company owner and the police. The company management said that the thieves had also decamped with around Rs 1 lakh cash.

Rajeev Kumar Singh, CO II Noida, said that on Saturday night they received information about movement of criminals in the area. “We deployed a team of police personnel at the Chijarsi underpass to check the criminals. Five suspects came in a Maruti Eeco at the spot. The police personnel checked the vehicles and found a number of stolen goods and valuables from the vehicle,” he said.

During interrogation the accused told police that they had stolen the valuables from two different companies in Sector 58 and Phase III area. “They used to conduct recee and identify factories and companies as vulnerable. They used to steal the goods and sold them to Brajlal at low prices. Brajlal then sold the stolen goods to unscrupulous buyers,” said police.

The accused told police that they had only stolen goods and not the Rs 1 lakh cash as complained. Police said that Megna is the gang leader. “The accused will be produced in court and sent to judicial custody. We will move an application in court for police remand of Megna and Brajlal to get more information about the gang,” said police.
