100m from police stn, thieves escape with 2.5L from Gzb shop
Ghaziabad: Thieves targeted a shoe showroom on Railway Road in Modinagar, just 100 metres from the police station and escaped with more than 20 pairs of shoes, Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, the DVR of the CCTV cameras and a laptop.It is suspected that the thieves had climbed onto the roof of the building next door and waited for the owner of Big Boss Shoe Centre, Rajkumar Gupta, to shut shop at 10pm on Sunday. Then they broke into the showroom through a skylight on the third floor and robbed the store. They escaped through the back door of the showroom.

The store is located in a three-storeyed building. There is a gym in the basement and the building adjacent to it is an Indian Bank branch.Gupta told police that he opened the showroom on Monday around 10am and found that shoes were scattered, cash was missing from the locker and the laptop was not there. The DVR of the CCTV cameras installed in the showroom was also missing. Gupta informed the police about the incident. ACP of Modinagar Amit Saxena said an FIR has been registered against an unknown person under sections 305 (theft) and 331(4) (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment) of BNS."Three teams have been formed to nab the accused. We are also checking the CCTV cameras of the nearby areas to identify the thieves and police are also questioning the locals," he said.
